As a native of Kamptal, Birgit Eichinger has a deep understanding of the terroir. She founded her winery in 1992, as one of the first woman winemakers in Austria. Since then, the winery has become a family business, with support from her husband Christian and daughter Gloria. For the last 30 years or so, Birgit has been producing top-quality white wines that express the Kamptal terroir beautifully.

The winery is one of 67 “ÖTW” wineries in Austria - essentially meaning that the wine is of outstanding quality, and marketed according to its origin. Birgit Eichinger has also received numerous awards for her wines, including the “Austria’s Best Value For Money White Wine” award from Weingenuss in 2020, for their notable Riesling.

This is a characterful expression of one of Austria’s best vineyards, perfect for any occasion and food friendly. Hints of lemon, white flowers and rich honey waft from the nose. The palate is peachy, fruity and concentrated, with utterly pure notes of citrus. The minerality is clear in the delicious finish, which brings a subtle saltiness. Serve it chilled, accompanied by fish on a vegetable bed, or Austrian vegetarian dishes, such as a light potato hash.
