Nk’Mip Cellars is making history in North America as the very first winery to be owned and run by Indigenous peoples. Meaning “bottomland” in the local Okanagan language, the estate sits at the southern tip of the Osoyoos Indian Reserve. Conditions here are ideal for crafting premium red wines thanks to the arid, desert-like conditions and warm summer days with plenty of warm sunlight. Over the past few years Nk’Mip has built a reputation for producing top quality cuvees predominantly from Bordeaux varieties.

Crafted for everyday enjoyment, this delicious, easy-drinking wine is made from top quality Merlot fruit sourced from a few blocks on estate vineyards in southern Okanagan. Each parcel is then fermented individually and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Nk’Mip’s winemakers then carefully create the final blend using the very best components prior to bottling.

Luscious dark plum, cherry, and blueberry characterise the nose while the first sip reveals a generous full body, firm tannins and long finish seasoned with cedar, winter spice and black pepper. The juicy, fruit-forward character makes this a great wine to enjoy at family dinners with dishes like roasted pork, barbecued ribs, Mexican food, pizzas and tomato-based pastas.
